The Special Weapons And Tactics or more commonly referred as the S.W.A.T. Team is a specialized police force that handles severe crimes in the Redwood City Area. Created in 1970 by orders of the mayor, David Hanson trained them in traditional "Shock & Awe" methods and other military-based tactics.
During the Redwood City Incident, S.W.A.T. Teams were scattered throughout the city though one team stayed behind and protected the police department until it was overrun. There were no known survivors of the outbreak, and it is believed all officers were infected.
Biography[]
The Special Weapons and Tactics Force was started in the 1960s-1970s during the Vietnam War Protests as a means to calm the public. From there, they were used in various scenarios such as hostage situations, bank robberies, and capture criminal scenarios.
Up until 1990s, S.W.A.T. was the most respected branch of the R.C.P.D. until S.H.I.E.L.D.S. was formed. Though it has been mentioned in few files that S.H.I.E.L.D.S. was to form with S.W.A.T. to form a Yellow and Black Division, though due to the T-Virus Outbreak, this never happened.

- The bodies found at Redwood City General Hospital are those of a S.W.A.T., more than likely they were protecting it until Tyrant G-001 came.
- S.W.A.T. Members can be met in the subway though they are soon after killed by G-001.
- A running gag throughout the game is that G-001 only is seen killing S.W.A.T. team members in the main campaign, as well as a few zombies.
- The Redwood City S.W.A.T. have a file in their office that shows that they have agreed to join S.H.I.E.L.D.S. under the condition that each officer gets 1-2 dollar higher pay. It is still unknown how much their pay was before.
