John Wolf is a security officer in the private military company Archangel Security.
John Wolf was born in 1972. At the age of eighteen, he joined the United States Navy, where he served as a sailor for several years before volunteering for the United States Navy SEALs. He retired from military life in 1995 and moved to Raccoon City, where he was recruited into the Special Tactics and Rescue Service's Alpha Team.
In 1996, John succeeded in joining the S.T.A.R.S unit, becoming a member of Alpha Team as Rear Security, fulfilling the role of Explosive Ordinance Disposal. He quickly became established as an important member of the team, and quickly becoming acquainted with the team. He became good friends with fellow Alpha team member Brad Vickers.
On July 24th, 1998, John Wolf and the rest of S.T.A.R.S Alpha Team were sent to the Arklay Mountains to rescue Bravo Team after communication with them were lost. Upon arriving to the crash site John Wolf and the rest of Alpha Team (sans Brad Vickers) investigated the crash site to look for any survivors. To their dismay they could only find the corpse of the Bravo helicopter pilot Kevin. While the rest of the group continued their investigation John headed back to the helicopter to inform Brad and radio the Raccoon City Police Department of the situation. When he got back into the helicoper he heard the gunshots of Joseph Frost, who was attacked and killed by several monster dogs. John quickly climbed into the helicopter to radio the Police Department when Brad Vickers, frightened by the gunshot and sounds of screaming, took off in the helicopter and fled from the scene.
