A former Green Beret, Jack Konig was arrested on August 9th 1997. For reasons never explanined to him, Jack Konig (although he speculates that it had something to do with the Cambodian Incedent) was scheduled for execution the following month.
To his dismay he was presented with an offer; JOIN the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeassure Service (UBCS) or wait for the Gas Chamber. Choosing life over pointless death, Jack accepted Umbrellas offer.
Despite being an Officer in the Army, Konig had to settle with being a Private again... Oh well anything beats suffication!
UBCS[]
During his year with the UBCS, Jack didn't take to well to the Russian members and officers. Mostley his supperior, Vassili Chuikov. Having been raised in the cold war's "Red Scare", he has an almost natural distrust for all former Soviets.
He mannages to get along with a former Rhodisian soldier named Matt. Matthew Sosbe and Jack become friends and are able to work to geather quite proficiently. Due to the relative success that these two achive
