Elysian Heights is believed to be one of the oldest (and most historical) districts of the city and also known to be where the city first began as a colony.

The location of Elysian Heights rests just outside of the city that consists primarily of the high class. Also, it is the locations of many public schools and the Umbrella Academy for the Gifted. Just outside of Elysian Heights is the location of the home of Rose Bedford as well as the bordering Sleeping Forest. It rests on the western part of the city and is the most quiet part of Newark City.

People of this district usually keep to themselves and tend to avoid one another. Why this is is uncertain as it may have had something to do with the shooting of Charles Bedford long ago; Rose comments that it wasn't always like that. "People are just too paranoid these days".

This area is the location where Rose Bedford lives just at the edge of Sleeping Forest.

Trivia[]

  • Elysian Heights is the one area that cannot be completely explored because of barricades put up and cars blocking the way.
  • One of the houses that can be explored has a painting of the Egyptian goddess Menhit, who-interestingly enough-is the goddess of war "she who massacres". This may be a small reference to Alex's intended plan for Rose.
  • The Elysian plains were a section of the Underworld featured in Roman mythology. The Elysian Fields were a final resting place for the souls of the heroic and the virtuous, seeking to further incite valor from the Roman troops.
